I can agree with you there. Let's get big government out of the business of subsidizing big oil to the tune of Trillions over the decades by stopping the use of the U.S. military as the U.S. Petroleum Protection Service that ensures the oil routes are free and clear. What would the risk premium be in the oil futures markets if the U.S. government ended its policy of protecting oil transportation? Then perhaps, hybrids, electrics, fuel cell and other alternative vehicles could compete on a level playing field in a free market with the highly subsidized internal combustine engine that is fed by crude oil products.
