Actually, I am someone who believe is fairness and being rational. Giving oil companies tax breaks that were put in place during a different era for reasons that no longer exist, when they are so profitable today, is bad public policy.

As far as global warming, I am not some head over heels global warming believer, in fact I wrote about the fact that global warming may have actually stopped in recent years, see: Has Global Warming Stopped? I am open to all positions on this matter. Moving away from oil makes a lot of sense economically since all of our major recessions since the early 1970s have been directly tied to oil price spikes. From an economic and national security perspective it makes sense to move on from oil to new technologies.
