Koan, as you undoubtably know, the ice age scientists were talking about was a cycle over thousands of years, not the rapid pace of climate change we are seeing clearly in the data today.

The worst thing for our United States to do is to move away from science in an age where so much of the economy is driven by science and subsequent technology.

Ultimately the dittoheads are counting on our military to keep us powerful, not our knowledge base and ability to embrace positive instrumental change.

Again and again the propaganda substitutes the power word "jobs" when they man short-term profits, there are arguably more potential jobs and long-term ROI in a sustainable green energy economy. But the fat cats of oil are using the right wing bully machine to engineer the dialogue to keep their stranglehold as long as they can, all while the atmosphere becomes progressively toxic to life as we know it.

Its the "those who don't learn from history..." again. The power of ideas and science that were behind dynamism and the enlightenment are under attack, with all the advanced media and advertising tools today.

They are never going to hear anything beyond "our missile" (penis, Daddy, God, whatever) "is bigger than yours."
