A long time ago there was a seat belt argument on some thread on SI. I can't remember where it was. These statistics seem to pretty clearly support strong seat belt laws: 45% reduction in risk of injury wearing seat belts- and a significant upsurge in young people wearing seat belts in states with strong primary seat belt laws sciencedaily.com
