Both are backed by currencies. What money supply has been expanded with private e currencies? I would not accept them if they were not backed by currency. Now if they are counterfeit, in the sense that they are not fully backed, why would anyone use Joe's e money? The transferring of money from one's account is more efficient today, and ease may increase spending for some, but it is not significant.
