Thanks, Ian. Yes, I've tried that, more than a few times. A problem is that my printer must be just too old as it doesn't even appear in the list of Canon printers available to update. I may just have to abandon this whole idea as I can't spend another day on it.

Unless a new suggestion magically appears on this board. Many folks have tried to help and I'm grateful.
