I was just reacting to the dude getting fined 2 grand for having a bird bath and he claimed he changed the water every other day. I agree with your comment . As a kid. I lived very close to 'wetlands" so we saw a lot of skeeters in te summer and many of the neighbors had purple martin houses so they'd eat some of them. I doubt that the martins would use a bird bath though...

I see there are are as strong of opinions on the bird bath topic as there were on the republicans candidates for president debate. Some folks see them as a breeding ground for noxious insects and others as a refreshing haven for our winged friends.
