So you'd limit your actions to yourself and not infringe on the freedoms of another - except that kid who can't get a taxi ride... Will Smith is gonna be upset. ;-)

The taxi driver should pick up paying customers and, if they have a problem with that, they shouldn't be a taxi driver. No problem there.

Bypassing a group of drunk kids is one thing, bypassing sober kids based solely on skin color and attire is another.

I'd also add that context means a lot, too - not just skin color and clothes. Some impoverished, bankster / government drug product areas and are simply dangerous - regardless of skin color or attire.

To err on the side of caution makes sense.

As to reality, most people don't have a clue.

Pharmaceuticals kill 106,000 people a year. That's a 911 body count every 11 days.
