"we owned NWL probably 10 months ago and flipped it for a few bucks and didn't get back into the name in the fall. the core business is under assault as you say. i think the infant stuff is a lot more cyclical than people think. in times of stress you don't buy new stuff. if we are willing to do it on occation for baby batman i suspect we are not the only one."

I forgot to mention - Craig's List is really having dramatic impact on the baby/kid stuff industry (plastics intensive). We just got rid of a rubbermaid kiddie table, a little plastic fort with a slide, and one of them plastic houses (cost like $300 new) and a large dog house.

People don't keep this crap too long any more and consignment sales are real big these days.
