When an oil tanker is converted to storage, the tanker is modified for the purpose. I don't remember the details, but vaguely recall such issues like having to pump in inert gasses to avoid long term chemical changes to the crude. Requires lots of changes to the tanker structure. So generally only old tankers are used in this way given the need modify.

If these tankers are truly converted in this way they wouldn't be suitable for delivery. Other tankers would have to be brought in as the article states.

Very costly and inefficient. Iran must be getting a bit pissed off at this point, particularly at the Arabs.

Major war coming IMO.
