The issue is dynamic range.

Although the sensors on our DSLRs have excellent DR, the electronics pipeline isn't good enough to take advantage of it when recording video (at least that's how I understand it).
I've been told this new camera is a big deal for videographers (esp. as it will take all the Canon lenses).
