I think you are talking about gasolene taxes? ERC is not producing fuel cells for cars so I don't see the comparison.

Comments on taxes and government intervention:

I think fuel cells should fail or succeed on the ability to produce power at a lower cost and with fewer proven pollutants. Not because some government thinks it knows what is best. Witness previous government intervention in the fabricated Energy Crisis. Shale oil was a major mistake. Why not let the market place determine these issues? In the absence of good science to the contrary the CO2 issue seams to me to be a political issue. I for one can spend my (tax) dollars more effectively.
