This weeks issue of the Economist magazine has a 14 page article on the issue of re-shoring from China. I can't find it online so you need to go check out the print edition. I am not sure I agree with the all the points in the issue such as the surge in use in 3-D printer making mass manufacturing unnecessary in the future. I can't see that technology making complex designs in a cost effective manner. Something can only be made using mass production techniques.
