For the life of me, I can't see why people think that having the ability to run, say, Office 95 on a tablet is going to matter to anyone. It may run, but it was never designed for a touch interface, and it's going to suck big time on that platform.

for me Window Office is the one item that can make Ipad the default corporate tablet overnight and replace most if not all of the laptop. I was disappointed that Msft did not launch Office with Ipad 3 (rumored was that Apple already certified Office on Ipad). It is not that tablet users are heavy creator of the content using Office, it is the fact that they can be the major consumer of the content. e.g. spread sheet that show client how their product can be cheaper to use over time and over various scenario. An automated sales presentation that is done on power point. And with Office you also can give the on the go executive the ability to modify document or power point charts while they are waiting for the plane. From what I read, Iwork cannot handle some complicate Excel spreadsheet and it also has limitation on the document side as well..

What are they going to do, insert a CD? Has anybody addressed this issue yet?
I thought Window software are pretty much downloadable from the software house site already. It is not as well organized as an Apple store or even Android Play store (and Msft really has no control on any software distribution) but I have not use the CD player on my laptop for the last 3 years ..
