The post you just quoted said trash which can be singular or plural.

In the context that Rooky wrote it, he says he's quoting you and that context would be plural because the cards are drained. and its probably fair to say that all the tax refund recipients don't all shop at the same liquor store.

I believe that the Advent Get-It Cards end up in the trash; but not the dumpster you referred to - which is singular.
