No one really believes that Obama is tough on terrorism.

The killing of Bin Laden is a major victory that Obama can claim, but this is also the fulfilling of Bush's "Dead or Alive" request way back in the days just following 9/11.

The argument from the left is that Obama wasn't distracted by Iraq and knew that the terrorists had to be hunted down in Afghanistan and Pakistan. They're going to play up this angle as much as possible because they believe this gets them the biggest cross-section of voters, especially "moderates."

At the same time, Obama is declaring the war on terrorism to be officially over. This can also backfire in several ways. For example, why is the TSA patting down little 4-year-old girls if we don't have to fight the war on terrorism anymore?

These are just a few examples of what I believe is desperation on the part of the Democrats.
