And they probably also think that people will buy Windows Phone devices because the interface is familiar... hey, wait a minute. I played with a Windows phone yesterday. I hate those stupid tiles. I know one can customize them and all, but what a pain, right out of the box. I mean, most of the tiles on the opening screen are totally useless to someone like me. Repulsive.
Can't remember where I read it, but an iPhone user unboxed the Nokia 900, and compared the first experience one has with unboxing the iPhone to the Windows one. What struck him was that the first thing which greets an Windows phone buyer inside the box is a sticker, urging not to text while driving. The reviewer noted that instantly, he was reminded of two unfortunate, recent traffic accidents. Jobs would never ever allow one to have such a horrific introduction to one's most precious new toy.
They don't get it. At all. The Lumia 900 is not exactly ugly on the outside, but everything else associated with it turns me off.
Mainly for aesthetic reasons. Aesthetics mean a lot to me, when I handle a tool, multiple times every day. Maybe it does not matter to other. Steve Jobs was convinced that aesthetics are as important as the function.
