<< GrahamCracker-Can you reveal the posts that Bankbuyer has shown an ounce of worthwhile analysis >>

Glad to - Go look at numerous posts on IV BAK board. I'm not going to link them, you'll have to find them yourself, there's a gazillion. And he gets into it with one poster there in particular which was my intended point for rooky - that rooky is not special. Needless to say, rooky has apparently taken my attempt at a conciliatory tone as weakness. That is a mistake on his part.

One example here. Bankbuyer responded to my RSH idea here with a very short post that involved a prediction.

Here's the entire post:

<<Re RSH
If these retail pretenders can make a measly 3-4% after tax, it would be a big winner.
At 2.5% after tax, it would be at least a double.
I think they have some weak franchisees that likely do them no favors>>

Now, this may not say much to you, and I do not subscribe to such precision in forecasts (but that is just me) however, he is basically opining (in apparent agreement) a very simple, but major component to my thesis: a small improvement in earnings will produce a quite satisfactory return. And I especially appreciate the slap in the last line. This is an opinion that I need to put some weight to and decide both what exactly it means and to what extent it negate my thesis (if at all), I hadn't thought about it like that.

I don't even think he thinks RSH is a particularly good idea, but i actually discussed his response with my partner last night (just to be clear, we have no investment business and I am not a pro, we only manage our respective family money - I describe my fellow retail sounding board as my "partner").

My partner knows of bankbuyer and his contribution to an extensive discussion of banks on BAK IV board during the period that the banks were melting down. As stated previously, I cannot run with those dogs but bankbuyer can and especially on banks. My partner and I both purchased baskets of fiancial co stocks based on our own analysis (we stuck with the sorts of things that our approach allowed: WFC, AMEX, USB) but we both kept tuned in to the BAK board for that intense discussion of which bankbuyer was a part.
