Threading is the software determining which post is an answer to what post. Subject lines do not matter.

My preference is for a software system which keeps subject lines intact, but that is not how SI designed their software.

This post will show itself to be a reply to your post. Likewise, replies to this post will be listed regardless of post subjects (or lack thereof).
