I know it wasn't a flame and I've respected your posts both here and elsewhere. I also understand the comraderie everybody has here. Guess my complaint is the time it takes to "zip by" the irrelevant posts. Even though I'm usually connected at 28 or 33Kbps, from the time I hit "NEXT" until the time the next screen come up can take anywhere from 10-30 seconds. Add 5-10 seconds to decide whether a post is worth reading and you might be averaging 30 seconds. From a couple of snapshots, it appears the FTEL thread averages 100 or so posts/day. So, 100 times 30 seconds per and I'm looking at 50 minutes per day -- just to determine what's worth reading! Add to this the time spent digesting the contents of meaningful posts and maybe responding to a couple and you're talking about a significant amount of time (in my book).

I try to follow threads on 5-6 other companies. Typically, these might average 10 posts per day each. However, I'm usually able to get through all the others in 20-30 minutes total. The irony is the other threads probably have more significant content since virtually all the posts are relevant.

Don't mean to be a whiner and I apologize for coming on so strong earlier. I'd just like to follow FTEL but I don't have the time for it.-- esp. if I'm going to stop to smell the flowers (which IMO don't exist on the internet). I also know it's silly for me to try to change behavior so short of a technological breakthrough that enables me to really ZIP, I'll probably just continue to avoid this thread.
