It is quite possible that if that occurs early (2014 or 2015) and with an Obama win, he'll get credit. Pretty amazing when you think about it. If the economy remains in the tank with a second term and they keep printing money rather than making government more efficient.... then oil prices will soar and the incentive to frac more, etc. will be even higher... Likewise, if Romney wins, and nothing else changes, he could get credit for it. Be little different than how Clinton gets credit for great economic times that were really due to the fall of the Berlin wall, the fall of Russia/USSR and the "peace dividend" that I believe came from outspending the USSR into their bankruptcy which was Regan's doing....
