The image reading technology is proprietary and used under license. As I understand it, there is nothing else like it.

To play, you hold (tap) the card on the screen, the image is read and a character with all its attributes appears in the game. For kids who know about Monsterology or Animal Planet, it's a 3-D, portable gaming experience. You buy the cards in hard copy or download them.

If you have any parents with young kids, take a look and see if they 'pacify' them with I-pads. It's amazing how ubiquitous it is here.
