Infamous is probably the right description. Frankly, it's hard to say. Yes it will translate at some point in time to our economy. But look at Mexico. It was in crisis, a few years ago. We helped bail it out. It took stern measures and honored trade agreements. They are three years later a robust and for now stable economy. Will Asia follow that example? I'd say in 3-6 months we will have a better picture. But right now it's a very murky picture. I always devote about 1/2 hour to knowing what the world equity markets are doing each day. Recently it seems to enjoy about and hour of my time. My time horizons are in some jeopardy for now, but I'm not yet totally out. Of course I'm not totally in either. I've got around 20% cash and some bonds. I do have some profitable put's as of yesterday that could easily be redeem today. That would push the toatl cash position higher. I did buy some stocks the past few weeks that looked cheap to me and not necessarily effected by the worlds economy. What is problematic for me right now is my core telecommunication infrastucture stocks. I torn with a dilema about lightening that position for now. I guess there is no consequence that half of it got Dec and Jan put's as some insurance. Allows me to procrastinate about it for a short time. IF I was to reduce that holding by 50%, I'd be in your terroitory for cash. Welcome aboard! We even allow retired zoomer's in this diversified discussion group-:) I think all take advantage of the weather and hit that little white ball today!!
