Most 'First Ladies' wouldn't stoop so low as to degrade themselves by trying to 'fit in' ... when by their very stature in their position as First Lady, they are above having to lower their own personal standards to try to meet those of others, who practically speaking, are in a lower 'caste' anyway.

I think it says a lot about her that she feels she has to 'fit in', when she is already, in essence, the most powerful lady in the country.

There's some sort of personality disorder there ... much like that of her husband who feels a need to try to ingratiate himself to foreign leaders of lesser countries, by apologizing and bowing to them.
