5/4/12 Contest Update
A lousy jobs report terminated a depressing first week in May, with the stock sell off wiping out the prior week’s gains and more.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 16.96% YTD (vs. up 22.22% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 16.62% YTD (vs. up 20.67% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 13.48% YTD (vs. up 17.81% YTD a week ago).
Despite a sharp decline, BIOJIM’s portfolio, up 43.72% YTD, held on to first place. My own portfolio, up 41.36% YTD, with both the week’s top two gainers (POZN & AMF.TO) as well as the week’s biggest loser (IDRA), managed to take second place. DON’s portfolio, up 40.27% YTD, dropped to third place
At Friday's close, just 5 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the red and 20 of the 38 portfolios were beating the NBI.
