I generally agree with that. Each of us is a unique computer with special talents. Men are better at spatial relations and women are better at verbal skills.

Why I don't like college entrance exams. They are a stupid idea based on myth.

Let the person in and then if they fail boot them out. Most will do just fine.

My concern is that so many people are concerned about their intelligence unnecessarily and often give up. Like ghetto kids. Most people are capable of great intellectual feats. If they study. Few people really study, so they never know their potential. The one thing that separates the great scientists, as muhc as intelligence, is how much they studied their subjects. Einstien was obsessed with light for years. What is that stuff-lol?

Take any of them: Einstein, Darwin, Newton, Hawking, Russell, tolstoy, Webber and on and on. They ate, drank and slept inquery. They thought about things 24/7.

At the end of Einsteins life his primary pleasure, were his daily walks and discussions with the great logician Godel.

Most men would rather watch a football game and women would rather chat on the phone-lol.

Most people are not interested in studying, or much of anything else.

My greatest pleasure in my old age is a post by Wharfrat or TL Cominsky-lol

<<I'm convinced solely based on personal experience that people have very different "kinds" of intelligence. There's spatial intelligence (the kind that lets people intercept a ball inflight), and, for lack of a better word, intuitive intelligence (where based on non-verbal clues people are able to discern things about people) and then "design" intelligence that lets people mold shapes and patterns, and then "music" intelligence that lets people "know" where the next note should be. And then there's the narrow range of IQ intelligence built on memory and inductive reasoning as well as fluency.

So someone with just an average IQ can be superb in these other areas. Different areas of the brain have different skill sets.

I do think there are just naturally very smart people just like there are people who are fantastic athletes. They are just naturally good at intellectual things and will figure things out way before average intell people.

It's true that intellectual competency can be increased by "training" the brain in doing intellectual skill sets and studying consistently can make one better at intellectualizing. But I also think there is an upper limit on this based on inherited abilities.
