Don't think most invested in gold are in gold stocks. Gold for investment and Gold ETF's (not miner ETF's) are much larger than the entire market cap of gold mine stocks in the entire world if I am not mistaken-and It may not even be a close race.

More over, investment demand drives gold price bull markets and not industrial demand,,, I would guess the amount invested in gold and gold ETF's is multiples of the amount in gold miner stocks.
