Hmmm... Shipping oil to Asia through BC=Canadian energy security. That's the equation? That's the logic?

If energy security is your aim, seems to me a viable - and preferable - pipeline to the east represents far more "energy security" for Canada as a whole, because the east has no such security. It's at the mercy of foreign suppliers.

But hey, why allow reason to enter the discussion? What should be a thoughtful evaluation of alternatives has already degraded. NIMBY accusations present, and irrelevant attacks to follow.

Down to the final outcome, it's all predictable.
