I think Obama has made some choices that are purely based on a strategy to get him re-elected. The ridiculous prosecution of medical marijuana folks is one of them. Keeping us in Afghanistan is another. Disgusting, but I see no real alternatives. Plus, every other president has done the same thing, except maybe Carter and that didn't work out so well for him.
