I know Catholics who go to church daily, and Jewish families that walk everywhere on Saturdays and have goys turn on and off lights etc. But even they are a very small percentage of their religions. Sharia in the U.S. is miniscule.

Praying on rugs and and washing, are not comparable to Sharia Law, that is silliness to compare.

There are ugly movements to reintroduce or expand Sharia in certain middle east countries, it is blended and continually eroding in others including North Africa; and it is being met with much resistance by modern Muslims in the west... It is hardly a threat to American Muslims, except ironically Islamophobes in the U.S. who have colossally exaggerated it's threat here. Talk to virtually any Muslim in your community, they will tell you the truth about Islam and their distance from Sharia Law..

The rise of fundamentalism around the world including the U.S. is always something to keep an eye on. When a religion's rules cannot be challenged and its laws trump those created by humans in democracy, you are probably going to have problems. For example, Mormon scripture that says black skinned people are cursed by God, interracial marriage is a sin.

America was founded to give us freedom of, and freedom from religions; so long as they abide by the constitution and laws legislated they are generally welcomed here. They are free to practice in their own homes and communities but they can't trump the laws, but oh Lord, many religions sure try! As well as justify and try to excuse antisocial behaviors because "Jesus" commanded them.

Say Brumar, on a somewhat lighter but related note, do you think the beverage industry might not support an LDS candidate?? How about Starbucks?? He continues to dodge questions about the role his "scriptures" will play if he is elected Commander and Chief. I'll bet you are not worried at all about rights should he choose to be orthodox in his mission for God. (Or will he be secular in governance like Harry Reid?). Forget Obama's grades, why does Romney dodge the questions about the boundaries of his religious influences??
