You just got owned again showing you the Romans in antiquity had been powdering their faces to look lighter skinned , for that was their ideal of beauty & perfection . So here you have the artist reflecting that in the depiction of the Angels & the "Lord" . So what we dream & aspire & imagine things to be , this is what we create in our own image embodying our biggest hopes, dreams & fears .
We imagine what is beauty , idealize , so imagining & creating our Gods & God too . On the flip side of light comes the dark side , what is not idealized beauty becomes hated , suspect & eschewed and here you find the underpinning of prejudice , racism and from differences in beliefs those religious bigotries that lasted for a 1000yrs between warring factions . Its all there in the history books you never read ...
Man creates God in his own image , out of all his own imaginings & this is the very simple truths of it ....build
it up any way you like truth is simple thing in the end , man creates Gods not the other way around .
