Novell is far from losing to Microsoft.
I think you are comparing appples to oranges here. A few years back, Novell made the msitake of trying to compete head-on with Microsoft, by trying to not only sell network OSs but also sell applications (Wordperfect purchase)as well as an app server (Unix purchase) and a desktop os (Digital DOS). Novell has spent the past year+ shedding these distractions and has focused on what it does better than anyone else, and that is the network OS arena.I work with both and I know first hand. The trade journals also consistently reflect Novell's NetWare superiority over MSoft's NT.

Novell's OS is lightyears ahead of any of its competition, and those who actually work with the product will tell you that Novell's NetWare is here to stay and is growing.Novell will never BEAT or REPLACE Microsoft, but it will continue to be superior to them in the Network OS category. The idea that one company can do everything better than al of its competitors is foolish.

Apple is not a valid comparison either. Apple is a hardware company which is a totallt different arena than software. Novell does not have the financial burderns tha Apple has, not even close. Novell is financially stable and most companies would "kill" to have a balance sheet like Novell's.

Before you buy into the hype, check out the facts. The financial community is going to be cautious with Novell, but for those who are patient, it will pay off.
