Jay Severin points out that 31 states have voted to protect traditional marriage. Zero states have voted down such a measure. Only five states have approved gay marriage, and none by referendum.

Jay says that Obama's flip flopping on gay marriage is a move to shore up a hole in his base, but thinks it is a net vote loser for him.
