The people would never see what they did wrong, anymore than they saw what they did wrong voting in Nixon. Raygun and Bush.

And the old are not getting handouts-lol-gheesh. A civilized society takes care of their old. They helped society for a long time and are now old. Every time you say that ("nor do I even care if I get "handouts" in my dotage) you sound like Rush Limbaugh.

<<But they've got all that cocoa. I love cocoa. A roaring fire, a good book, and a cup of cocoa- is there anything better? But sure, I'd like Obama to win- but more for other people than for myself. My girls aren't likely to need abortions, or financial aid, and we're not likely to need any help from the government.

Nor do I even care if I get "handouts in my dotage" . So in a way, it would be kind of fun to see the right wing nutbags

get totally screwed by a Mitten presidency- as I feel sure the rich would benefit greatly, and the poor and middle class would be absolutely reamed. On the other hand, there are some lovely people on the democratic side who would be equally screwed, and they totally don't deserve it. But still...it would be nice if some people could get what they think they want, if only to realize how awful it is. Too bad there's no way to do that that just involves the awful people.
