Nah. I've been bitching about SS for years. If you could search SI you'd see I've said this before. Many times. Since the 70's, when we were in college, my husband has been sure he'd never get anything- and that's not a problem for him, but he'd like the system to be rational and honest- and not give out money to folks who don't need it. So it's not a new thing for me. I'm just a multifaceted person. Some people fit neatly in to a political ideology, but I don't. That doesn't mean I don't support Obama 100%- because I do, but I can't possibly agree with him on everything. Look how much I dislike religion- yet I have to pick from religious candidates, because that's all the US offers me. That's why I get so amused when folks on the left bitch about Obama's shortcomings. I mean come on. No candidate is perfect.

(and just fyi- I paid a lot in to social security- but I'll never get a dime back, because I am in the state employees system, and we aren't allowed social security. So all that money I paid in- pfft- gone. Do I have a problem with that? Not if it's supporting little old crippled ladies, no. But if it's supporting affluent seniors? then yes, yes I do. And when the generational war comes, I will definitely be on the side of the young adults.)
