Yes, we are the barbarians of western civilization. Look at how many people we have in our jails. It is due to the draconian primitive laws the right wing forces on us. The right wing in all their stupidity has been a ball and chain on our attempts to move into an enlightened civilization for our entire history. E.g. jailing people for smoking pot. That has got to be at the top of the list of dumb ideas. Putting totally normal nice kids/people in jail and at the mercy of true sociopaths and barbarians for no reason. Same with victimless crimes. We are nuts.
