*When is National Hamburger Month & National Hamburger Day?* *May!* • May is National Hamburger Month and celebrated each and every year by a huge amount of people! National BBQ Month is also celebrated this month of May so extremely large amounts of hamburger is cooked on grills in honor of this holiday- • Now National Hamburger Day is a bit confusing when it comes to the date- We found references that claimed December 21, July 28 and May 29th as National Hamburger Day. It is possible that there's more than one Hamburger Day but it must be noted that the date mostly publicized in radio and news media is May 28th! • National Hamburger & Pickle Month: Yep our calendar also has a Hamburg & Pickle Month .Who would of guessed? This holiday is celebrated the month of March! • *Are there other related Holidays?* Yes! August is National Sandwich Month *Why was this holiday created?* National Hamburger Month is a tried & true commemorative holiday. What is a commemorative holiday? It means it's used by various governments, groups and organizations to raise awareness of an issue, commemorate a group or event, or celebrate something. Where are you gonna get your burger today? In celebration of a commemorative "DAY," many burger joints and restaurants will give away so many free hamburgers on May 28th in honor of this day. Just listen to your local radio station to hear who is participating in your area. *Origin of this Holiday* Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We did however find that this holiday has been celebrated for years. There is plenty of documentation to support that this holiday does indeed exist. This holiday is referred to as a "National" day. However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though we didn't, this is still a holiday that is publicized to celebrate. So have fun with it and celebrate it! *We found recognition about this holiday from:* Calendar sites and personal Internet sites that blog and share information about this holiday. *How is this holiday celebrated?* This holiday is celebrated by getting in on the free hamburgers being given away in your town. You have to listen to your local tv station or local radio station to find out the times and which restaurants are doing the promotions. If NO restaurants in your area are participating then you can celebrate this holiday by grilling up your own juicy hamburgers for you and your family.
