I think Johnson's Great Society, our increased diversity post 1965 Immigration act, drug culture unleashed on us by your hippie generation, the record wealth disparity gap here in the states, the unyielding power of the NRA and our for profit prison industrial complex had a lot to do with it.. Bottom line I have as much hate for the right wing as you do but it goes so much deeper IMHO.
