Laggards will post earnings on the 14th, the last major earnings release date in this quarterly cycle. Only 7 companies are scheduled to release on the 15th. After that, any further US earnings will be from late filers and the fly by night companies familiar to pinksheets "investors".

Those who file toward the end of earnings season generally have a combination of weakness in the systems and in the personnel. It is one small peak investors get into the company culture, systems, and processes. Strong companies and weak companies stand out here. Earnings reporting is just one process, and if they do it quite well, odds are the company does a lot of other processes quite well. You can see this with Alcoa. The same is true at the opposite end of the spectrum. The late guys tend to have lots of other things going wrong with internal processes.
