Morgan Says Compaq's U.S. Corporate Channel Inventory Dn NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Compaq Computer Corp.'s (CPQ) inventory in the domestic corporate channel is at least two weeks smaller than it was at this point in 1996, according to a report released Tuesday by Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Inc. Compaq's inventory in the U.S. corporate channel tallied in at between six and a half and eight weeks, compared with the 10-week inventory counted this time last year, said Steven Fortuna, channel analyst for DMG Technology Group. The difference was attributed to improvements in Compaq's ability to manage its channel inventory, Fortuna said.
