Garry,

The market goes to extremes at both ends of the spectrum. This market is using the Asian crisis as an excuse to trash everything no matter if there is an Asian connection or not. It has the smell of a bear market, and I hope it is only a correction within a bull market. So now that everyone is running scared you can do one of the following.

1. Sit tight and gut it out.
2. Buy more on dips and average down ( great for longterm investors)
3. Sell out and take your money and run.

Now, having been thru a few of these scenarios in the past. I usually have chose to do # 1 and #2. It has worked well for me over the years. One of the fears I have today is that many investors have never seen a down and dirty market similar to what is happening now. A market where they would even trash your stock after you announced you have the cure for cancer. You'll know it's bad when you see incredible bargains but you're afraid to jump on them for fear they're going lower. Then the day will come when it will turn on a dime and everyone afraid they are going to miss the train will buy like crazy. I hope this gives you some comfort and you can sleep well at night because I do. The sun always rises and the tide always turns. Good Luck,

Ted
