Shalom, it would really probably be helpful to you to read these urls, which explain some of the background of the conflict between European Christians and the every-day women in Europe they tortured and burned for hundreds of years. This caused a lot of bad feelings, as you can well imagine!!!

Now, Shalom, let's just be logical for a moment, okay? Satanists are worshippers of the Devil, who as I recall from my long childhood exposure to Christianity was originally a fallen Angel. The existence of the concept of a Devil is therefore entirely Christian, the dark side of Christianity. I think Satanists are very scary, and mentally disturbed people. They torture and mutilate animals, and many serial killers profess to being Satanists.

I think evil does exist in the world! But the idea that witches and pagans--who are busy worshipping the moon and the sea, having happy dancing holidays, blessing their houses by throwing cinnamon sticks and orange peels into the fire (the only witchy thing I know how to do), and being vegetarians and loving parents and environmentalists-- are in any way Satanic makes no sense at all.

Being a Christian and everything, would you have been one of the people torturing and burning women in the Middle Ages, since you obviously see them as evil?

What ulterior motive do you think the U.S. military would have in making something up that is not true about the wiccan religion, since their general reputation is straight-shooting, conservative, and religious in the Christian sense.
