Yes, the macro situation is dominating markets but the economy is not that rotten.
US economy is not doing too hot but not too bad.. But the Europe is slipping into recession now and China is not holding on the 7.5-8.5% GDP growth target. Brent oil is going to have fun with this set of fundamental if there is no war break out between Israel and Iran...US is not the marginal buyer of oil or natural resource stuff since we don't manufacturing stuff much more..I think oil have a shot of hitting 80ish in this cycle in another slowdown scare (e.g. before the Greece loan is due and there is no government ..). To me the real fat pitch on the oil patch is if and when brent hit between 75 and 85 if there is no war in ME.. With a war, everything will be up in the air for awhile...
