That's not true. Obama offered to take BIG cuts in SS and Medicare if The (R)'s would accept tax increases ONLY on the wealthy, as part of the "Grand Bargain" it looked like he and Boehner had arrived at last year. Boehner took the deal back to the House he's supposedly the Speaker and leader of, and they refused to accept tax hikes on the wealthy.

The (D)'s WILL let cuts happen, but ONLY if the (R)'s accept tax increases, which they won't. The (R)'s are the ONLY obstacle to deficit reduction. The (R)'s also will accept NO cuts on the military.

The (R)'s are the problem - you need to align yourself with the right team - not the perfect team you want, but the FAR better team of the two available.
