Hi John, I was wondering if you could answer this for me, or forward it someone in tech who can:

What are INTC's plans are for a faster system bus???

Currently, they are only at 60 or 66 mHz (exactly where they have been since some of the first Pentiums were released). Some Cyrix based machines use a 75 mHz bus, which is why they are faster than Intel's, even at lower clock speeds.

You'd think that INTC would work to increase their bus speed, instead of continuously raising the clock speed on their processors which are only giving deminishing returns.

Anyone, please comment (especially people from INTC who are monitoring this thread, but do not comment). If you have to, send email.
