When you find the catalyst let me know. I spent my whole life searching for reasons (and am still searching) and found no good reason. Hegel informed me that no reason was a function of how Reason appeared. I went to grad. school and got a Ph.D. in Philosophy because I was desperate to find reasons. I found a reason or meaning when I became a father. Otherwise, all the reasons I studied sounded unreasonable.
