"Meteorological and solar forecasts seem hand-in-hand. In the weather model world, next 2 weeks should see hot over western US (W.US) and cold over eastern US (E.US). Note: hot=above average, cold=below average...regionally speaking, see map from CPC). High pressure over Nebraska and Kansas will allow heat to build over W.US and cold to settle down over E.US."

OK, east coast not that cool. Washington, DC, has been in mid- to upper-70's past couple weeks...comfortable but slightly above average. Boston, MA, has been cool.

Heat over SW US...building over midwest this weekend before cold front pushes on down to suppress heat to sun-belt states.

Then I expect heat to re-build over US, mainly over eastern US for Memorial Day while cool air slips down behind high to give western US some relief. Over long time, I don't see any build-up for low-frequency regimes, so I'll just say let's just continue this flip-flopping action...which I consider to be pretty variable for early summer.

See last year, high pressure stayed parked over OK and TX and gave them droughts. A changing pattern gives bursts of heat but then relief...so I like this pattern and hope it stays.
