It'll be hot/dry for east coast, while cool air (relatively speaking) surges down into middle of country (anomalously cold west of line from Hudson Bay to Texas). Rain area will be Ohio River valley. Here's crop moisture index as of May 12, 2012. cpc.ncep.noaa.gov Yes, Texas still needs rain, though, especially western Texas. Wow, look at the map...the desert is dry. droughtmonitor.unl.edu Now lets see what happens for rain in OH/PA/WV over next 10 days. Not much looks like will happen now via weather models.
