Thank you. I'll readily admit when I'm wrong. And I certainly hold no love for the GOP. However, I do think we are all so pissed off at the problems this country has, which have been caused by bad governance, that we are starting to blame the very things that made this country great: capitalism, our Constitution, and the rule of law. That is very disheartening to me. I want us to solve our problems through effective governance and rigorous execution of our laws and regulations. I don't want us to abandon the good in the US to try to experiment with failed policies that Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, and many others have tried.
Over the past 10 years, I have taken a much closer look at how things work in this country. In fact, my views weren't too far removed from yours prior to this period. However, the last ten have been a real eye opener..............and I disagree with much fo what you have written in the paragraph above, and like RW, I would ask that you refrain from setting up strawmen when trying to press your point. No one on this thread has ever said they want an economic system like "Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, or Argentina". Absolutely, no one.........that's a complete strawman. |
