That will work for them if Verizon does it as well. Otherwise, they'll be driving customers to their competition. Verizon seems to be indicating they are thinking the same way. When the competitive Carp hits the fan; we'll see. Customers will likely scream. I didn't think so at first, but now I'm thinking a power struggle is developing between the carriers and Apple. It could be why the stock is down. What power does Apple have? If they could sell that the total cost of ownership is less if people buy an unlocked iPhone, they could really screw the carriers scam. But that is a really hard sell. How tough is Cook, we might find out.
